-It has been reinforced to me this week just how many STDs are floating around out there.  I’m baffled by how many people engage in sex without having their partner thoroughly tested.

-It really sucks just how depressed my diabetes meds make me.  Doesn’t help that I forgot to take my meds for about a week, and when I started up again I got hit really hard with the depression.

-I’m thinking I want to save up for one of those giant bean bag chairs.

-I’m glad that my hair is finally long enough to braid.

-The first images from Catching Fire are really making me want to see the film, even though I had pretty much decided I didn’t want to see it.  The books are fantastic, but so depressing.  However, I’m thinking I shall probably plan to see it.

-Pizza sounds amazing right now.

-I am soooooooooo overwhelmingly excited for my first real paycheck in years!

-Tonight a friend used the words, “Make it so.” while we were talking online.  The only thing that would’ve made it more entertaining would be if he had included a photo of Picard.

-A couple of days ago I bought a movie I had never heard of and knew absolutely nothing about.  It’s called The Watcher in the Woods.  Some of the acting was really terrible, but the story itself was quite good, and surprisingly scary and dark for a Disney film.  Bright spots of this film were Bette Davis and David McCallum (NCIS’Ducky).  Davis was super creepy.  There was not nearly enough Ducky in this film, I think he was mainly in the film to attract whatever audience Davis didn’t attract.  Here’s the trailer:

-I spent tonight with my mama figuring out what the spring puppet show is going to be.  I’m pretty excited about this one, and am hoping that it all pulls together smoothly.

-I’m getting really excited and pretty nervous about Monday.  New job!  Big plus: I get to wear cute scrubs!  There’s no mandatory scrub design I have to wear, so I can wear the fun cartoon tops.  Also, I’m madly in love with the Grey’s Anatomy brand scrubs.  They’re the softest, most comfy scrubs I’ve ever encountered.  I’m also glad that they’re making scrub tops that are much more feminine than they used to be.

-Had weekly lunch at Zemogs.  Ended lunch with “I have a job” celebratory sopapillas.  Here’s a picture of the deliciousness!

-This afternoon, I decided to try to be artistic, here was the outcome:

-I’m thinking of getting the Bob Ross videos and learning to paint.

-I’m not trying to brag, but I’m super excited thinking about having a real paycheck again and being able to pay my bills again!

-I love my Hello Kitty headphones.  I spent more on them than I normally spend on headphones, but the whole Hello Kitty design totally made it worth it.  They work fantastic, which was super surprising.  Best headphone investment I’ve made in years.

-My hair is finally getting some decent length to it.  I’ll be glad when I can braid it and put it up.

-I need to find a mascara brand that doesn’t make my eyes itch and burn.  Thinking of trying Physician’s Formula (waiting to make some money, just because it’s more expensive than what I usually spend on make-up).  Many people have told me it’s gentle on sensitive eyes.  I don’t wear a lot of make-up, but I’ve found that mascara is kind of crucial if I don’t want my eyes to look terrible.

Happiness is…

Okay, I’m not going to lie.  I’ve been feeling a bit down in the dumps this week.  A combination of things just put me in a funk, and to top it off I ended the week with what I’m assuming is either a mild case of food poisoning or the flu.  This led to me not wanting to write a happy list tonight.  However, the whole reason I started the Sunday night happy list was to remind myself of all the things (big, small, or completely pointless) that I’m thankful for.  So, onto the list…

-Clean showers.  Living in a co-ed dorm, using a shower that so many other people use, I’ve gained a new respect for the clean shower at home.  At home, I don’t have to worry about what nasty, unknown bacteria is lurking in the shower with me.

-Clean water.  There’s really no logic to this one, other than the fact that as I was trying to hydrate today it really hit home that having clean water is an incredible gift.

-The return of fall t.v.  I admit it, I’m a couch potato.

-This is my 61st post.  I’m really excited that I’ve managed to post something everyday since I set out on this blogging journey.  I don’t exactly have a good track record when it comes to sticking with things I start.

-Having hair.  Even though my hair is ridiculously frustrating, I really appreciate that I have hair.

-I chewed gum today.  I don’t remember the last time I chewed gum.  Weird.

-I really love my penguin pillow pet.  It’s so cuddly.

-The Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice was on t.v. last night, and I realized that the only reason I like it is because of the music.

-Today just felt off.  Everything I set out to do went wonky.

-I discovered that there’s a comic con scheduled for November here in Grand Forks.  If this is actually true, I’m really going to try to go.

-Just realized that the first time I saw Finding Nemo was the summer right after I graduated from high school.  Next May will mark ten years since I graduated.  When Nemo opens in theaters next week, there will be kids going who don’t remember the first time it came out.  I’m not sure how I feel about this.

-I called Gramma last night.  It was so weird to not asking how Grampa was or hearing him in the background.

-It makes me so angry when things mess with my mom’s blood sugar numbers.  This whole diabetes thing is so frustrating.

-I love my pink Wii remote.  It makes me so happy when I’m using my Wii.

-This Husker game is a bit of a nail biter.  I feel really bad for the UCLA players, their pants are tragic.

-So far it’s taken me over an hour to put this post together.

-Sometimes life is weird.  My life is weird.  And it’s weird in epic ways.  Some day I hope to share one of the most  epically (spelling?) weird moments I’ve ever had happen.

-Pudding is more yummy when you grow up.

-I dislike that the water up here dries my hair out so much.  I even put in leave in conditioner, but it doesn’t help.

-Facial hair is one of those dark secrets about adulthood that you never get told about.  You just get to be an adult and suddenly, boom, there’s these nasty, annoying hairs demanding to be dealt with.
